Arizona State Science & Engineering Fair :
 
2015

Globe High School hosted the 2015 Distrcit SEF on Friday, Feb. 13th.

There were several exceptional projects awarded eligibility to the Gila County SEF scheduled for Thursday, March 5th at Bullion Plaza in Miami, AZ.

 

1st Place winners will compete at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix on April 7-9.

 

AZSEF:

5 students competed in this year's Arizona State Science and Engineering Fair held on April 7-9 at the Phoenix Convention Center.  We would like to commend each of students for their outstanding achievement and look forward to their future accomplishments!

Senior Division:

Katelyn Woodring and Chase McPeak - Animal Sciences 4th PLace

Brianna Griffin and Lane Parrett - Astronomy and Physics 4th Place

Junior Division:

Taylor Wilson - Environmental Sciences 2nd Place

 

Katelyn and CHase will compete at the FFA State Science Fair this June in Tucson.

Taylor has been invited to compete at a private corporate science fair later this spring.

All our female students have been invited to attend an all day Women in Science Event at ASU later this spring as well!

 

GCSEF:

Get Involved

Studies show children of activeley engaged parents in their educations have higher academic success outcomes, with reduced dropout rates and increased progression onto secondary education (https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/aea9241a-b86f-4c06-af57-1d9afe3626c2 ).

Further research shows the demand for STEM based workers in the 21st Century job market is at an all time high and is only projected to grow as our technolgy based society expands (http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/stem-education/2011/11/03/stem-jobs-outlook-strong-but-collaboration-needed-to-fill-jobs).

Arizona West Regional Tournament Update

The GHS TigeRobotics Team was victorious at the Arizona West Regional Event (April 2-4) held at Grand Canyon University. Recaps of all the action will be available soon at Blue Alliance - click on the 'Video Camera' icon (upper central half of the page) to take you to the recordings.

The team is now in St. Louis, Missouri for the World Championships on April 22-25th!

Globe High TigeRobotics Build Season is Complete!

 

Year two of the GHS TigeRobotics Team is in full swing!

The six week build season began with the kick-off event at Phoenix Central High on Sat. Jan 3.

Team members had until Feb. 17 to complete this year's challenge and will compete at Grand Canyon University from April 3-4.

Last week the GHS TigeRobotics showed their stuff for a sponsor demonstration at the San Carlos Apache Gold Golf Club. They compete this weekend at the Arizona West Regional Event (April 2-4) to be held at Grand Canyon University.
